Sweet Zach

My sweet boy, Zach, started doing community service at a local retirement home, Grace Gardens, a few weeks ago.  He's been wanting to volunteer there for some time.  The first day, when I dropped him off, I wondered how he would handle it.  You never know how a kid will interact with elderly people, and I was a little concerned. When I picked him up an hour or so later, imagine my surprise when Zach jumped into the car and said, "That was THE funnest thing EVER!!!"  He absolutely loved talking toi the old folks and hearing all of their stories!  He's so amazing and brings me so much joy!

He returned to Grace Gardens today for a couple of hours, but was disappointed that the manager had him file papers for the majority of the time and he only had a short amount of time to do a puzzle with his new friend, Vivian. (She is deaf and Zach thinks it's the coolest thing EVER that she can read his lips).

I'm smiling just thinking about it.
