On Sunday afternoon Bryan and I had taken Jake to pick up some last minute items because he (Jake) is going to France with friends on Thursday. While we were out I got a call from Zach saying that Phoebe had hurt her arm while on the trampoline. We headed home and found Sweet P laying on the couch, obviously in a great deal of pain. So we headed to Children's Mercy Urgent Care to find out what was wrong. This has happened before, Phoebe hurting her arm, and when we went to CM they just popped it back into place, so we weren't too concerned. When we got there they took us in to check her vitals and things got a little scary. Phoebe started dry-heaving and she got very pale. Her lips were almost white. When they checked her blood pressure it was 65/30 (I think), so they checked it again and it was the same. Three times and it was still 60's over 30's. She became extremely lethargic and couldn't keep her eyes open. The nurses tried not to look paniced, but we knew something was wrong. They immediately got a doctor in and started an IV with fluids. Soon after, P's blood pressure stabilized and she started acting like herself a little. They gave her pain meds and took x-rays. They then transferred her to Children's Mercy Hospital because they found she broke her arm (elbow) and it would need to be "manipulated" back into place under general anesthesia...YIKES! Long story short...we ended up with an overnight hospital stay and surgery the next morning. My poor baby! She has pins in her arm that will be removed in a few weeks and LOTS of pain! She's such a trooper though! We're just glad she's on the road to recovery. I won't go into the details of the trampoline incident...let's just say Zachary feels REALLY bad about it, and the trampoline is going away!
