Sunday Snapshot

We had a wonderful time at our friend's celebrating Zach's birthday and wishing the best for Shemi, their foreign exchange student, who leaves today to head back to France.  She's been with the Orwick family for about 10 months and it's been an amazing experience to watch her integrate into the family, learn English, and learn our American ways.

Anthony and Shemi became friends when Anthony lived with her family as a Foreign Exchange Student last year.

We gave her a framed photo of her and Sami before Prom...Shemi took Sami as her "date"

 Pam's mother gave her several small gifts, including a miniature Eiffel Tower

 

 Such a sweet and quiet girl.  She really hates having her picture taken, but let me take them this time :)

 Pam developed such an amazing friendship and "mother/daughter" bond with Shemi

Her gift to Shemi was an album of photos from her time here.  It was beautiful and Shemi loved it!  I think Pam will miss her the most!

It was a fun night, but also a sad one.  We'll miss Shemi very much, but now we have a reason to visit France!
